David Heinemeier Hansson joins Shopify’s board: 20 years in the making

Welcome, David Heinemeier Hansson (known to many as “DHH”), to Shopify’s board of directors.

You may know David as the founder and steward of Ruby on Rails, which has a long history with Shopify and is still part of our technology stack today. But he’s also joining our board for another reason: in service of our mission to inspire more entrepreneurship in the world.

Engineering and entrepreneurship pose similar challenges of building what you want with what you’ve got. Shopify and Rails have a shared mission: empowering individual crafters, inspired by their tools, to do great work.
